I've seen that genre being used. I suppose it basically means techno music with lots of industrial influences. And future pop is "an electronic dance music genre, incorporating influences from synthpop, uplifting trance and EBM." lol, a genre jungle!hasteroth wrote:Pretty sure it says Trance/Techno. Power noise (also known as rhythmic noise, noize and occasionally as distorted beat music) is a fusion genre among noise music and various styles of electronic dance music. It should not be confused with "power electronics", which lacks rhythmic elements and is closer to harsh noise (From wikipedia)
Although I'm not familiar with Techno or trance-industrial, but as any Techno or Trance music, if it incorporates EDM as so the definition above from wikipedia says and from what you said:
Then it definitely counts.Emong wrote:I've seen that genre being used. I suppose it basically means techno music with lots of industrial influences. Plus, I thought if those examples especially the second one and the first one. I couldn't listen to the third because it said that "the video was removed for violating the terms of use."

Re: Favorite Trance/Techno Songs
Oh!!!! I made some errors
1) The EDM supposed to mean Electronic Dance Music.
2) Pure Trance and Techno are preferred, but if you have songs that are truly related to Trance or Techno then they could count. As for songs that don't involve any element of trance or techno, they don't count. (I'll probably listen to some Future Pop, Techno Industrial, and other forms of music claimed to have trance and techno elements to tell the difference because there are many songs that are mixed up and many trance/techno songs have that mixture).
3) Your first one is an example of pure trance/techno and I wouldn't be bothered by the second one. Plus, Ya taught me a new genre. Whoohoo!!!!

Re: Favorite Trance/Techno Songs
Please, before someone kills you, don't say Tiesto is techno. He's a trance DJ. He started playing acid* house, then moved on to Gabber/hardcore. Thankfully Ferry Corsten hit him over the head one day and he began playing and producing Trance round the turn of the millennium. I saw him play for 4.5 hours in Sydney last year. As a set it was horrible, but fuck it he played so many of his own tracks (which most DJ/Producers rarely do) and I was euphoric for every second of it.
If you want real trance then you need to look away from anything produced after 2004, as trance has been getting way too soft these past few years. Sure tech trance is popular now but it takes a major emotional factor out of trance, which is why I hate it with a passion.
Have a download of Kyau vs. Albert - Live @ Summer Sessions (08-13-2004). I orgasm every minute I spend listening to it.
*lets have a minute of silence to respect the acid genre
