All right, the pool has concluded, as others have posted, but here's where it becomes official:
Local Video #10000:
To Protect And Serve
"Inner Universe" by Yoko Kanno set to Appleseed
member: kmv
Guess the Donut 10K Pool winner: DOkool
gundamzuki has the responsibility to post the official results on the which anime pool, but I'm strongly suspecting a victory for the house.
I still have to do a bit of sweeping up (PMing DOkool, prize acquisition and mailing, etc), but for the most part the pool is over; congrats to Dan on winning, and sincere thanks and appreciation to all who played.
As a closing message, though, the #1 thanks for this pool need to go to Phade and the server admin team, who work tirelessly to make the Donut the best mass-video-hosting system possible, without nearly as many props as they deserve, and also to the throngs of .org members who donate to keep the site up and running. It was you, and you, and you who set the spirit free. The first wave of yearly donations is starting to come due; if all of us who donated last year can match or beat what we put into the till last time, the Donut will easily be able to handle the load of ANOTHER 10000 videos.
Awright, I've got an op to squeeze in around a bunch of coding, I'm out (and I can finally start getting to sleep before 1AM).

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.

Woohoo!
Thanks to:
Kai for coming up with this kickass idea in the first place
Zarxrax for taking my first choice (the 3rd) so I had to go with the 4th
The mods for pulling off the somewhat mistitled 'shenanigans' when they did
kmv for being #10K
And finally, Phade for giving such an incredible opportunity in the 'Org and in the GD. I shall dedicate the first half-dozen to you guys.

Or that no one has mentioned anything about KMV's sweet first video here or in his announcement thread? If no other first videos come out better than this by the end of the year I will be voting for it. Seemed a little choppy in some parts but I liked it.Savia wrote:Is this a good time to mention that the Creator count is less than a hundred away from that same mark?

Um, the house wins i guess... I made a shot at Original Gundam, but I must say that Appleseed doesn't fit in the UC timeline. Bummer. My condolences to all who participated. Congrats dokool on your win. And many thanks to everyone who made this possible. I must now go watch that 10 000th vid.

Thank you sir, I appreciate the encouragement. To be honest I didn't really expect any replies on my announcement thread - lets face it, I'm not an Org.Personality and it IS my first AMV. However, the 5's I have received so far on the star scale have been nice - if unexpected.Corran Productions wrote:Or that no one has mentioned anything about KMV's sweet first video here or in his announcement thread? Yeah, I know. [sigh]. I know what's wrong - I had problems with the number of parallel AVS frameservers running during my final export out of Premiere. My laptop just wasn't coping. The only way I was going to fix it was by going back to the source, and that meant loosing the effected clips in Premiere, and I just couldn't face redoing them.Corran Productions wrote:Seemed a little choppy in some parts but I liked it.
Lessons for the next one.
And since I'm in a thanking mood, I would like to echo dokool in thanking Phade for the donut. Why he would want to let a non-donator (for the moment anyway) like me upload to the donut is beyond me- but I am very grateful that he is.
