I saw a good Scrapped Princess AMV with Evanescence's "Tourniquet" that included some of the original Japanese dialogue in the instrumental parts of the song, in order to establish and advance the plot, and the editor subtitled those lines. But, of course, it was clear that they weren't just already-existing digisubs, as the footage was clean enough that you could tell it was from DVD source.
