To be expected. Nudging up the freshness date has been in the plans for years. All but two or three of last year's finalists premiered in January or newer, so it was time. This is probably as far as I'll nudge it until I start getting insane quantities of entries again though.

I'd say you're more likely to not hear anything from editors apart from someone who didn't fully read the rules and is upset about being DQ'd.

Audiences, on the other hand, might gripe about how comedy has "gone downhill this year." So you can roll your eyes and laugh at them.
