Sucking...? I grew up to Hotel California...one of the first songs I ever learned all the lyrics for and could sing on my own (made quite a little scene on the playground even - see how old I am!)

But I've heard of Zappa, definitely know that name (can't think of the songs, but the name has bells going off). I'll add that to my -never heard before songs- list to look up. ^_^ Best way to get new ideas is to broaden horizons. I don't know what songs are old or new these days, but almost all are new to me.

I don't see how he relates to Eagles though. Zappa is the antithesis of your regular, sentimental rock music. He does a massive array of different stuff, from solo guitar to jazz to pop to Broadway to total weird avant-garde orchestra. But all of it is very unsentimental. Basically, what else can I say aside from the fact that many of his albums pride in various descriptions of perverted sex?
