Oh, no, he's far too fast for that. If you want to know why he did it, check the spoiler on the other page. ^.~deckofdarkness wrote:i thought that hiei's arm was cut off by someone that he was fighting.....

I need to get some nice youko kurama pics to stick in my agenda so I can look at them when I'm not paying attention in math.
Knock yourself out. ;p
Who knows, if I ever get around to updating I have a few hundred more pics to add to Kurama's section. ^_^;;

Then you weren't watching the same series. From the very beginning, in the very first episode you have the joke on Keiko with her skirt, the fake 'ear' joke on Takenaka (sp - the teacher who likes Yusuke), the confrontation with Kuwabara (if you didn't catch Yusuke's expression and realize it was a joke and not a real fight, then you need to watch it closer - it was pretty obvious that they never really 'fought'), the entertaining and cheering up of the little boy (tell me those expressions Yusuke made weren't done as a joke - the entire scene is just a comedy cute routine), the meeting with Botan and her joking around about Yusuke's past, the scene where she comments on his death and he falls out of the sky (how could you miss that joke, it's a blatant 'face-fault' anime scene that sends him right to the ground from yards up in the sky - very very vivid joke), then onto the next episodes. The jokes are all *over* the place in the first few episodes.I never heard any jokes in that show, regardless of when they took place.
Impossible. Two of the main four characters the series is about aren't even introduced in the first few episodes - Hiei and Kurama don't come in until after the ressurection, and you learn *nothing* about Hiei's past until the Makai arc - the very last arc in the series. How could all the character growth happen in the first episodes if his story doesn't get told until the Yukina saga and the meeting with the three makai leaders - specifically Mukuro? And how could Yusuke get all of his character growth when you don't even learn *what* he is until the end of the Senui arc (season 3) and into the Makai arc? That right there explains his entire existence - and it certainly wasn't told in the first few episodes. And how could Kuwabara get his character growth when he doesn't mature at all until after Yusuke leaves during the Makai arc? That's when he 'grows up' - and even the deepening bonds between him and Yusuke doesn't take place until they go to Genkai's tournament - right before the Yukina saga. And then there's Kurama - you get a few minutes of his history in the first episodes with him, but you don't learn *anything* about his past until he recovers his Youko form during the Dark Tournament (the second season) - and you don't learn of his dark history until the Makai arc - right after Hiei's is revealed.All the drama and character development was in the first few epiosodes - you know, the ones where Yusuke is trying to reclaim his body.
Tell me, please, how they could have given *all* the character growth in the first few episodes because somehow I must have missed that.
What does DBZ have like Kurama and his double nature? Are you going to try and compare him to Goku? Goku would never hire an assassin to kill his partner because he got incompetent. He'd never be as absolutely cold as Kurama was - he doesn't have anything in common with him at all except that he gets a little more serious when he's super saiyajin. And what about Hiei? You could try to compare him to Vegeta, but the entire history of the koorime simply can't be matched with the saiyajins and you'd make a fool of yourself trying to say they did. Who else would you link him to?Everything I've seen after that was DBZ clonage.
Or ignore the characters and just focus on the plot devices. What in DBZ can be compared to the Yukina saga? How about the entire Makai arc? Yes, you can grab the little tournament that ends it, but not the buildup or the storyline that precedes that rather short fight - and what about the ending of that fight? That's like nothing DBZ would *ever* do in a million years. You've seen DBZ - I've read that in your posts, so you know who *always* wins the fights in that anime. Now tell me how the Makai arc can be compared to it? That ending was nothing if not unexpected.
Yes, there are a lot of similarities between DBZ and YYH, but you'd really be failing to watch the anime if you thought they were the same. While YYH *does* have a lot of things DBZ has, it has a *lot* of things that you won't find anywhere in the entire anime of DBZ (dragonball, dbz, dbgt) - things that keep it from being just another fighting anime. Try explaining the romance. It always helps to make you realize how different they are - YYH has an entire genre of relationships that barely pop up in DBZ (and then only so they can have children).
Sorry, but I get the impression you don't know much about YYH at all. And like I said - if you only like the first few eps, then it would be better to stay away from long anime like YYH. And if you honestly *didn't* recognize the jokes and comedy in those first few eps, then you might want to rewatch them and not take things so seriously. That teacher didn't really pull off Yusuke's ear - it was a joke. ^_^;;
