Congrads on the AWA awards sKy. More or less, you deserve it for your obvious creativity, even though I had no idea who you were up against with.
I must say that it gives me more hope for the future when I see editors, let alone AMVers, practice out of the norm and into the creative experimental. Your 'd!gital me' makes me happy knowing that information.

Alright, now that the happy words are over...

'd!gital me' makes me happy seeing someone practice creativity and experiment. But sadly, this is the only thing I liked.

This is probably the first video of yours that I didn't like overall to tell you in honest truth. Don't get me wrong, I still believe your effort for creativity is justified and put to good cause.
It's just that this video didn't work for me for:
1) I couldn't sense the horror of the video. Just watched this in a very, very dark room with the volume turned up to the ear piercing db. Yet I didn't receive any moods of fear by the constant subliminal cuts. I was jumping here and there for sure in the video, but I didn't classify this jumping as horror. Jumping was merely jumping.
2)The use of live-action, even though well used and beautifully edited when seen, leaves the audience hanging. Probably from the fact that not enough footage was used to give it any meaning or presence. It feels more like fillers and showcase of style rather than meaningful.
Quality has nothing to do with this justification. In fact I thought the degrade of quality was well fitting.
3)By the end of the vid, I didn't feel like the video was complete. Nor did I feel that the audience went anywhere. It kind of left me with one eye brow raised.

Anyways, I do appreciate the cause this video gets after though. And I'm still happy for you winning the award. All n all, I do believe that your effort is well made, especially for all of us here on the org.

And just to let you know on how I appreciate your videos; I immediately downloaded the vid upon the alert of your new upload. I treated it as if it were the next System Shock game, or a new Francis Ford Coppola film. Huge Anticipation!
And sure enough there's a lot of anticipation for your next work.

That was awesome, and genuinely creepy.

The credits were also very innovative. <3

Great stuff.

Gee, thanks. Both my friend and I jumped behind you when it was showing.

Heh.

Win.

Fucking win :D

I am slightly pissed that you did the live action scene replacement thing before I could, but you honestly probably pulled it off better than I could have. This is the creepiest video I have ever seen, and the replay value is probably gonna be nearly infinite for me. I mean, it's so... open-ended, and it's the kind of idea you wish you'd thought of first. Everything in the video, from start to credits, seemed perfectly in place. And what an achievement that is, because you could really go anywhere with this, yet you stayed focused and simply delivered. I knew you must have done something special to win at AWA, but honestly, this exceeded all my expectations.

I really wanna hear people say there's no more creativity in AMVs anymore. Anybody? :o

Nice job! Congrats on the win.
Not really my cup of tea, but I can appreciate it. It was done well and the artistic style was good. The use of live action footage fit very well too. Never been a fan of horror anything though. Never was a huge fan of Lain either. So, just so you know where i'm coming from. :?
