I've been reading a lot of spoilers on CLANNAD recently, since I pretty much know what's going to happen from the game :/

"From the theorizing by TWH-Sprocket translator velocity7, it seems that the Tomoyo and Kyou arcs are generally incompatible with the Nagisa arc; the two images here give a very big clue as to why that is so. Because of this, velocity7 has surmised that KyoAni could take this one of two ways; now that the relatively less essential Fuuko and Kotomi arcs are over and done with, either a "split of universes" is about to happen within the next episode or two, or the stories of Tomoyo and Kyou are going to get shafted. Either way, they’re running on a tight time constraint here; can they finish up everything within the last 9 episodes, or is there something else waiting in the wings? Whatever the case, I can’t wait to see how KyoAni is going to handle it. Not to mention the Mysterious World scenes, but I guess that has to come in its own time."

Also I found it interesting to read the forum on AnimeSuki for CLANNAD, because it was created back in 2004 (when the game released) and is still active to this day.

It may take some time to read through all of it, but it does give some further insight into some things which hasn't been mentioned here.

After unlocking "After Story" I was like "WTF YAAAY I CAN CONTINUE THE GAME"
But after starting to play it, I found out that it isn't translated, yet. :/

Ok my death aside, I'm beginning to think the anime will just ignore the afterstory and end after

with the last episode being reserved for clearing things up etc.

They need to have a season 2.
