Just think of journals as the long lost and (apparently) much beloved off topic section. You can post whatever you want (although I'm sure there are limits somehow).
If you want to keep track of your video progress; awesome
If you want to make lists of people that should rotate on your pole; uh.... if it's your thing (*cough* sammy). If you want to post the notes on your next physics exam, I can't really see what's stopping you. I often wonder just how accurate the Journal is as a window to someone. You get the feeling that some people just 'think' about stuff way too much, and that others are barely literate monkeys hammering on the keys in between ook-ook-ooking their videos together.
It is sort of weird that it is there in the first place don't you think? Maybe it came with the program, and since it's harmless enough the admins just left it. Journals unlike threads don't seem to get locked...
This thread for example probably isn't going to get anything useful or new added, so I'm envisioning a little lock symbol next to it.
