let me just say that some of the best videos on this site were made with Magix O.o
it's the person using the program not the program itself..

also if you get yourself used to Vegas... it will backfire on you when you try to use Premiere... because the way you use the program is so different.

Yeaaaaaaah... Like going from Windows Movie Maker to Vegas. I was like, "HUH?!?!" But I soon re-arranged my brain, and I feel pretty comfy in Vegas now. I think I'll be able to handle any switch, as painful as it might turn out to be.

I have to say that switching to a NLE was sheer joy. Plus, have you SEEN WMM's clip system? Holy cannoli. It was so much unnecessary work that it wasn't even funny.

I used 27 episodes of Eureka Seven in one of my videos (my highest rated). TWENTY-SEVEN. In WMM. I'm pretty sure my eyes actually bled after a few days of parsing out scenes...

I went from WMM to Ulead to Vegas O.o but I only made two videos on Ulead... and I've been using Vegas (or some version of it) since 2005.

I've tried Premiere (and everything seems backwards to Vegas) and I still have Ulead and Pinnacle but I don't use either - cept Pinnacle to capture stuff... (they came with other hardware I own)

for the most part I don't believe there is a "better program" (well anything is better than WMM) but you should use what you are comfortable with.
