Boochsack is Cracking Down on AMVs, audio wise, that is!

I'd been upping my videos to gametrailers.com if I want to have them streamed. They fricken LOVE AMVs there, they seriously post urging ppl to upload EVERY AMV they have whether they made them or not, only they suggest you do a search to see if somebody else beat you to it first ^.^ lol, I don't know how they do it, but it's been like this for a couple years.

i love gametrailers, although i didnt think about putting amvs on there, i think i may do that.

somebody put one of my videos on it. It does pretty bad though.

lol yeah, the audience there is surprisingly different :/ I try to put up only amvs that relate to games somehow but like they fricken HATE great amvs like Doki's Hell0 Fairy (*Boom Headshot!* and the *Hey! Listen!* I thought would make it more accepted there...).

Anything remotely FF related just blows UP there .

It was the acoustic version of "Yours to Hold" by Skillet, which is one of the bonus tracks on the Comatose Comes Alive CD.

I have only had two videos removed:

Fuji TV specifically asked YouTube to pull down my Nodame Cantible vid. That was because of the anime.

Popularity got pulled down because of the song, and every other Wicked related AMV.

YouTube ONLY acts when specifically directed to. Honestly, they don't really care. They have to be prodded by a copyright holder to move. And I only upload there to beat other people from doing it first. The funny thing is every time someone DOES upload one of my videos, YouTube kills it- but leaves mine alone. That's one "feature" I am not complaining about.

This is false, Any person can get anything taken down from youtube by issuing a 3rd party copyright complaint even though they hold no claim to copyright themselves. All they have to do is flag it, E-mail a certain address, and youtube takes it down automatically. It is up to the person to file a wrongful removal form and have their video restored.

They made me mute my "Yours to Hold" too. It was the regular version though. Luckily I have the video (and others) uploaded to the Org and are currently looking at other streaming sites. Based on reading this topic I am thinking of using Gametrailers.com, LiveVideo, and maybe Veoh. I am annoyed with YT but understand they are only trying to save themselves from the music industry (among others). I didn't get much useful comments from YT but it was nice to know I was reaching a wider audience. I hope in the future the copyright law will be updated to make AMVs legal, or at least provide a method in order it to be so (pipe dream, I know).

GodTube- Christian version of UTube, I've seen AMVs there and they're set to Christian music.

kh-vids.net a place specifically for Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy vids.
LiveVideo has started blocking AMVs, I can't get mine up there anymore. Veoh is even more picky than UTube, just wanted to throw out some options

I uploaded an AMV of a Skillet song as well. They rejected it, so I disputed a claim, they let it back up...and then all of a sudden, they took down at least 10 of my videos that have the songs of Nightwish, Within Temptation and Linkin Park and I have no way to dispute a claim on it either... kinda mad that they took down one of my best videos.

somehow I don't see a site named 'AMVSpace' acheiving the purpose that some of us set out to fullfill. Sure it lets you share your videos with your friends and other teenyboppers, but it doesn't put it out there for the WORLD to see, if you go to amvspace or even animemusicvideos.org you expect to find amvs.

My Utube account had a weird moment, I swear up and down I muted "Live Free or Let me Die" for Kingdom Hearts that I made, but it's still playing it with sound. That's weird, but makes me happy. I put a link to another site that has it up there, so if it is actually muted, it'll be accessible somewhere else.
