Well, this was the first place I looked for help on how to make an amv. I don't like wasting time asking questions and I'm really glad some one made this topic. It really helps though I still don't think I could possibly make one. I don't have any anime dvd's and I don't know where you could download clips, and I'm not sure if I have the right stuff to make a video on my pc. lol. (I borrow all the anime I see from friends, or watch it on cartoon network....which is kinda sad....) lol anyway...yeah...so I'm not stupid. I know to look before I ask! :P

Haven't worked on a vid in such a long time, and just reformatted computer. Now I got a problem that makes me feel like a newbie myself.

I got the vob files on computer with dvddecrypter, DVD2Avi'd them to D2V files. I installed Avisynth, and have an AVS file with the following code:
MPEG2Source("E:\Movies\GTO\Episode1.d2v")
(On install, it says to NOT put in the Loadplugin line, or else it could crash)
Now when I open it up with VirtualDub, I get the following message:
"Avisynth open failure:
Unrecognized exception!
(E:\Movies\GTO\gto.avs,line 1)

Could I have wrong version of the plugins? It used to work when I did it for my last vid, but since reinstall, it doesn't :(
Anyone got a tip, or link to plugins that work?

30 pages? I guess I got a lot of reading ahead of me. At least I'll always be an awesome AMV watcher. I know nothing, but this thread looks like a good place to start.

Can someone please update or delete that first post? It's so out of date, it's not even funny.

I just had someone e-mail me to ask where he could find DivX 3.11a, and then if I could hold his hand as he used it.

No, I have not read any of the posts preceding what I'm typing now, nor will I be reading anything afterward.
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."
