oh my gawd no!!! in a live action they alwauys seem to do it wrong, acept for a few that come out good, they always have the wrong!! and they always chop out stuff, and they just loook too difrent, i mean ost animes dont look anything like actual humans if ya know what i mean, anime ppl are supose to have huge extra shiny eyes, and are supose to have really big noses as bre siad, to make it into a live action is to complicated, and usualy there are still unsatified fans who are greatly dissapointed.

It works better the other way. Turning Live Action into anime.
For some reason there's a special filter on turning anime to live action which filters out the good bits.

"Children frighten me, their big scary eyes and the way they can turn a stick into a huge sword" --Nez DuVont who amazingly never saw an anime in his life
"Anime? I don't need instructions on how to go about molesting children! Uh not that I would..." --Nez DuVont, self-defeatist

Perfect Blue has been done as live action, and it wasn't as good as the original. Going back to original post, there also was a live-action Gundam movie called G-Savior that Bandai for some reason licensed and put on shelves. By all accounts it's horrible.
Of course, it's not always the case. The GTO live-action drama is usually considered a better work and better adaption of the manga than the GTO anime. There was also a live-action version of the story that got turned into Sword For Truth that was considerably better than the anime, but considering how much Sword For Truth sucked, it wasn't that hard.
Other titles...the City Hunter movie with Jackie Chan is supposed to be watchable only due to Chan's involvement, and there's also a live-action adaptation of Dragonball done in I think Taiwan that should be nuked from space. Live-action versions have been made also of Ogenki Clinic and La Blue Girl, which verges on the silly; there's no reason to adapt hentai for live-action when you could just make a normal porno and not have to pay licensing fees.
More live-action-from-anime? Given the past track record the market probably can't bear any more.

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.

Yeah, it is a 27 episode Drama from Taiwan:azulmagia wrote:Hana Yori Dango was live-actioned!? This is the first time I've heard about this!JoyfulJen wrote:There are very few anime that survive a live action remake....
Meteor Garden is the only one I can think of that I actually liked better than the anime (Hana Yori Dango).
Having said that, I would like to see a Live action version of Witch Hunter Robin done with a huge Hollywood budget.

It follows the manga faithfully. It was really well done.

Just as I think anime should not be turned into live action, I think live action should not be turned into anime.
Sure... there are the occasional exceptions... but in most cases, I think it's best to leave stuff alone.

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups

Actually Outlaw Star is to far out of reach because on fox they created a live outlaw star rip off called Firefly. At least when you watch it all of the characters has the personality of the outlaw star crew. Plus they have a ship and some of the outlaw star characters first names are shared in there. I don't know if they intended it to be like that but it is.

Can't agree with you at all on that.genestarwind21122 wrote:Actually Outlaw Star is to far out of reach because on fox they created a live outlaw star rip off called Firefly. I loved Firefly...
can't say the same about Outlaw Star...
Firefly was created by the the guy who created Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the guy who created The Tick and I think the show has little in common with Outlaw Star. THese two guys are creative enough to not need to rip off someone else's stuff, especially not a show as generic as Outlaw Star.
Oh... and as for the name matches... let's take a look.
CHARACTER OF FIREFLY
Inara
Jayne
Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds
"The Shepherd"
River
Simon
Kaylee
Zoe
CHARACTERS OF OUTLAW STAR
Gene Starwind
Jim Hawking
Melfina
Aisha Clanclan
Suzuka
Fred Luo
Well look at that. Not one match!
OK... I don't mean to be this harsh, but I really was impressed with what a good, fun and well written show Firefly was... a lot of production value for a TV series...
Outlaw Star, on the other hand, seemed to me as a very uninspired show that I just couldn't get into at all.
