lol talk about lowered expectations.... I mean every video NAMED Hold on is juist!!! So I was like awrite I'll give it a try. pictures on the wall thing is a fave of mine even before koop did it, way back in fluxmeister's images... and this video is basicaly images without the emotion. I'd probly like it more if I didn't love images thus my expectations are not matched :< but I did LOVE the calendar!! <3 SEPTEMBER BITCHES -_-.

Calendar puts you over!! 10/ 5!!

this must have taken a hell of time but i fell like this choice of anime
doesn't deserve all this i mean if you put the same effort in another
combination it would be a lot better beside the fast scenes would actually
fit better then this because this anime is kinda of slow romance mood
and the song is full of life however after seeing this multiple time
i really admire your work on the 3D camera and the texture and the whole
effort and i wish some day i can do half of it any way great work
and i really enjoyed it

Ben reason I didn't recommend DoF unlike some people is cause the way you had your project setup it wouldn't have made any sense for almost any shot. Too many complications compared to the bg texture/motion blur. Though I do have to stress that I'm sad to see that you didn't get the drop shadow working. It would have made things.. "softer" if that makes any sense. Anyway I still enjoyed it even though I would have recommended a different paper texture had you showed this to me before release.

The theme and concept was amazing but the execution was destroyed by some of the camera speeds. I realize you were trying to match the pace of the song but I think you went a little overboard.

Meh it was still very enjoyable. All I can say is.. I'm glad i didn't watch this after getting drunk or I'da been sick.

"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

Lies, this video is emo ben!

emoben

:o

Well, to be serious, I didn't feel it was as different as may have been advertised - with the exception of pacing, and that you may have been taken too far. That said, smoothly done, lots of effort here, interesting solution for sure.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Good stuff, but I have to say I liked the Pro version more. This felt just a tad too busy and I'm not sure what to think about the paper texture. Anyway good job for making an interesting Shinkai video.
