Personally I say don't get rid of the semifinals, just lower the number down to 10 semifinalists.

That's one way to get rid of us riff-raff.

But seriously, just make the semi-finals the final round. Is there a real difference between the top vote getter from the semi-final to final round? In other words, the one that got the most votes moving it from the semis to the finals? If that made any sense? :ying: :book:

Congrats to everybody who participated (and the winners).

And personally, the semi-finals are my favorite part.

Vivaldi arigato...

I also want to thank everyone who voted for me, thank "The.org managers" for the good work. :D

Gratz to all the winners!

Yay, Chiikaseizures for Most Fun XD

That said - Megamom, you'll still be the Best Editor, Most Improved and Most Artistic (for Cliché) of this year - for me :)

It was a fun year.

2009 (or VCAs 2010), here we go! \o/

AFAIK I don't think it's the admins want to remove them, it's that the org is steadily declined in # of vids entered each year and if the trend holds true next year there won't be enough to really justify a semi-final round.
Is this really true?
Ok I myself only come around for the VCA every year now, since I've grown old and have to work for a living :(
But I never thought that the number of posted AMV's where even declining.

I felt that this years VCA stood out from the previous, especially in vast number of really good and high quality vids!
Congrats to all the winners and a big thanks to jasper and doki for making it possible!

I remember this absolutely satisfying feeling, of having completed your very own AMV. (And the shiver before reading a new opinion)
I tell you what, I made my last AMV in 2002, but this year I have to go for a new one. (or 2)
(And no crappy XP x64 Windows crashing when Premiere is trying to read more then 3 avisynth DVD-Scripts from my Raid 0 will stop me this time :amv:)

I was wondering .... if making a video in 60fps is the criteria for "Most Improved" that some of you are using ... than Phan should have won it last year for this video ...

Phan got gipped!
