Okay... the first Japanese cartoon I ever laid eyes on was Akira. i kid yo not! I guess someone left the TV on when I was 4 years old, because because I remember something about a man flying belly-up and laughing and that same character morphing into a huge, fleshy blob, later on. I used to think it was some sick, twisted dream until I saw the actual movie ten years later and instantly reconzied those scenes taht haunted me so for a whole decade.
In conclusion, I have Akira to thank for screwing me up as a child!

By the way, the movie rocked.

Oh my, Battle of the Planets [wasn't Saint Seiya also called something different back then?] and Voltron.. I believe I was around 9 or 10. Christ, I'm old.

Later, when I was in my 20's I started watching again, starting with Fushigi Yugi and Ceres. Can I please have my walker back now?? :p

The first i saw was speed racer, but I didn't know what anime was. I saw DBZ and thought it was stupid. The first anime I saw, when knowing what anime is was Cowboy Bebop.

ha gunsmith cats, I was 8, then i got into dbz(when it first came out, on fox and 2 episodes every sat at 6am!!) and ronin warriors. From that point on ive been hooked.
