I don't know about Tessa having the weak personality...

At least...

spoiler:
She had the courage to admit her love for Sousuke up front. That's something I think he didn't deserve but for me, it at least proves who I think is worthy of getting into Sousuke's pants...

Oh, she has a weak one alright. She constantly second guesses herself, and like I said, while she makes for a great captian and is very gifted in her talents... Without them, what is she? NOTHING. >>

Seriously, if you think about it, Tessa would probably just be an average shy girl staying at home. Even though she takes responsibilities and the like, all of it was given to her by her experiences in Mithril and with her being a Whispered (I highly doubt it's a spoiler by now). Without those, she's nothing more but a 16-year-old awkward shy girl...

So true.. so true...
Take away, that she's a super genious, a hottie, and has whispered powers. Plus, she might be shy, but she's pretty honest about her feelings so you have to take that away too. What do you have left?

I'm totally seeing your point now. <smirk>

Why am I feeling sorry for initial d fans all of a sudden?

Anyway, I think it is more of a problem that Tessa sort of lacks a personality. Even if she is not the shy type personality-wise she is nothing more than average. She doesn't stand out like Chidori does. I think it is that craziness that attracts people to Chidori.

*dies at the Tessa TESTOSTERONE Tesserosa* Ahaha, good times, good times.

But I agree. Chidori has something about her that really attracts people to her. Especially in the novels, she's so strong and overall very smart. *sigh* But that stubborn streak of hers ruins so many moments. >.<*

I haven't read the manga but it seems like I should cause I'm missing something. Is it that different?

No it's not. But, as is typical for manga-anime series, the manga has more in it.

And the manga has a bit more emotion in it as well. You really get to see more of how Chidori and Sousuke interact and the like. Personally, I love the manga and the novels more so than the anime.

Though... Fumoffu was just too damn funny. XD Now THOSE were better than their manga counterparts.

Hmmm, here's something interesting. Supposedly there's going to be an OVA series of the Second Raid in the future. Sources can be found here:
