Although your last hint throws me off, I'm taking a guess with Kaikan Phrase, but I don't think they have anything to do with alternate realities though, but I've never seen the whole series.

Series 2 wrote: Guy stabbed by mother

Evil Corporation Kidnap Girl
Guy transforms into beastlike creature

Sister has many copies that are being hunted
Guy finds sister on moon
Guy kills sister.

I think the new series is too easy.
