The Japananese direct the animation but most of the actual work now is done in korea or china.

Even 'The Simpsons' is animated in South Korea, So. Korea does a LOT of animation in contract from America.

Also, the Power Puff Girls isn't so much an 'anime band wagon' series, since most of the codes and conventions of anime are not present in PPG. Dispite that, PPG is WILDLY popular in Japan. PPG is just cute, there are no sweat drops, no crosses over peoples heads when their angry, and their HUGE eyes are not concurrent with the 'Big Eyes, Small Mouth' method of anime. Rather, their eyes are not just large, but they're technical inhuman... The only anime with eyes that even look remotely 'anime' would be Kanon...

While PPG does take a few, limited C&Cs from Anime, for the most part it's just WACKY.

I've heard the term Japanimation mentioned on the Disney channel a few times. I sincerely hope the Japanese aren't really too offended by it.

I've heard Japanese producers at cons use the term as well. It's just lost a lot of favor here in the U.S. due to political correctness and the fact that some people say "Jap" "Animation", with a blatant pause between the two parts as opposed to Japan-imation.

Considering the number of stupid people in the U.S., it's just better not to confuse the issue and just use one term: anime.
