Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Insane! I loved every one of the damn glass shards you put in there! Great job on capturing the song too.. But your AMV was a bit too shallow for me 0.o Random-ish clips..

I think this was really good. Effects are ok, some of them may seem a bit meh, but honestly, they fit. The storyline was straightforward and it's easy to catch up, but I expected a little more from choruses.
And, on the contrary, I liked the song and I think it matches the darker tone of the anime.

Overall, I liked it.

Why? Watching the logical fallacies flying back and forth is far far more interesting than staring at the screen wondering if Sierra ever quits abusing effects worse than a drunken hillbilly beating his 11 year old daughter who just told him she's pregnant and it's not his or her brothers.
Don't hold your breath, shes a visual artist probably practicing and experimenting with effects in all her amvs to put towards practical use, so she will probably continue to abuse effects worse than a drunken hillbilly beating his 11 year old daughter who just told him she's pregnant and it's not his or her brothers. At least shes creative with them though ;p

Oh comeon. At least the effects aren't random. She actually knows how to use them, in my opinion. The effects also give a setting to the video.....based upon what she wants to describe. If you know how to use effects, I say go for it. But keep in mind, using them every 5 seconds is not the way to go. But this video has many parts without effects. Its not like your eyes are on fire from watching these effects. I don't see what the problem is. This is her style.

Well, I knew this one was going to be an "effects video", but I don't always want to use them this much. Depends on what my concept is. Like my next one will probably have about as much as the average 2007 AMV (which is... now that I think about it, a lot... >_> )

Xvid version is now up, thanks to the x_rex30. :)

Not really, no. For every effect in this video I can point to another video that has that identical effect. Although the glass effect was actually in the anime for the other video I'm think of but still, it isn't all that creative.

You meant to reply to me not Bakadeshi. And technically she knows how to use them but artistically speaking, not so much. I'm not one of the anti-fx whiners but still, effects should have a fucking reason for being in the video other than the editor going 'look what I can do!' The point after all is to make an entertaining video, not to be a demo reel for applying to some colleges effect whore program. I'd rather see poorly done effects on a video with a decent concept of why the effects are there than technically well done effects jammed in a video they have no reason being in. For example, Elvis vs Anime is the only Sierra video I've ever thought was worth keeping and the effects in it look like shit. But they actually work with the concept of the video so I'm fine with that. For this video there's really no reason for the effects to be there. It would be almost exactly the same without the effects, just not as shiny.

I'm gonna stop now. People tend to get entirely too pissy when they realize I'm not always joking when I insult something. Nevermind, forget I said anything. All hail Sierra for she is single and if we praise her enough she might date us or something.

ummm Sierra .... unfortunatelly this avi file is probably incomplete...because you wrote it has 80MB but I've downoladed it two times and there is only about 58.6 MB...so it ends somehow at 3:18....I don't know why...I would like to have avi version because I could watch it at my dvd player :) please check it...:)
