I assumed that they were going to translate them and have the credits in English/Romaji. Plus, there are some episodes where the credits add something to the episode (B.ep.5/C.ep.3) and as such, should be done so the English audience may pick up on it.

Personally, as long as all the credits are there (translated or not) AND the clean OP and ED, PLUS the 'full dance" ED are there as extras, I'll be satisfied.

Finally, my current favorite source code message:

How active do you think the h-ism community will be to get this show going?

I like Haruhi personally as well as Yuki and Mikuru [who obviously cater to every single fetish tastes in the universe I'm sure] and wonder wth is going to happen when the dvds finally come out.

Sadly, I WANT to hear the dub and do NOT have the money to get both special and regular editions [bah, why by two?] so I guess I'll just watch it 'manually' in broadcast order...

Why would you have to buy the regular and the special edition? The special edition has everything the regular edition does. The special edition has the dub and the chronological order on it. It's just the special edition set comes with a bonus disc of the broadcast order with subs only.

My information is incorrect then. I thought the special edition didn't have any English dub [at least, from where I've read]

If what you say is true and the 'special' edition comes with an English Dub, then I'll get it, but for now, my previous info was that the 'special' version DIDN'T have an english dub and only had the broadcast order with subtitles only...

Yeah, since Bandai is required by the Japanese license to release the series in chronological order. Their regular and special editions will include the chrono order, which is 4 discs total for the whole series with the dub and sub. The special editions are a 2-disc set starting with volume 2. The bonus discs in the special edition have the broadcast order with subs only.

Here's the breakdown of the goodies of the Special Editions.

Volume 1 - Box, CD, goodies.
Volume 2 - Bonus Disc of first 5 eps of broadcast order
Volume 3 - Bonus Disc of next 5 eps of ....
Volume 4 - Bonus Disc of last 4 eps of .....

So you'll get the chrono AND the broadcast.

The official Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya trailer is out! Man, it will take me time to get used to Wendee Lee's rendition of Haruhi.

x2

Well, anyone going to Sakura-Con on April 6th can preview the Haruhi dub. Click here for the press release. I assume they'll show the Mikuru episode and c.ep.1.

BTW, I always crack up when I hear Ms. Sheh's Mikuru Beam performance.
