Since the time I've been going to Otakon (2000), I believe both Vlad and Tim Park have won twice in a row.

Contest was cool. Not sure if anything I voted for won... now that I think it, only 2 of the winners were ones I voted for namely AMV Hell, and Vic's Kanon vid. For Serious, I was very torn between Silence and Future Paradise. Both of those showed effort and original thought to me. For action, think I remember voting for the Shamanic Princess vid. In romance only had one that made me feel remotely romantic, that being the FLCL vid. Ah well, congrats to the winners. My one disappointment: not being able to get to see audience reaction to my vid in overflows due to being asleep when it was shown. *sigh*

Hey, thanks. I really thought the Romance category was wide open, though. I thought I had a chance, until I saw Vlad's, dwchang's, and the FF video. I thought the other category to have as many vids competing for the prize was Comedy - German 101, Hale's Mom, AMV Hell, Alt EVA opening, and noone's mentioned One Jump, which I thought was crazy clever. Of course, all of the categories were hotly contested. :)

I missed the explanation on the Theme category, though. What was the criteria for that?

To paraphrase one Mr. Cool James, please refrain from referring to it as a revival, I've been lurking for ages.

It wasn't a category. It was an award given to the best video that followed the theme of "conflict", which apparently we here at the Org forums voted on, months prior.

I'm guessing most of us totally forgot about it. I know I did, until Geoff announced the award.

...ouch. Let's try and not be mean here.
Uhm...I don't think he was being mean at all. He was just answering someone's question. I don't see him calling anyone out or degrading anyone. I think you're reading too much into things.

And thanks Gene! Maybe I'll go for the "three-peat" next year ;).

Yeah, this is my second time getting first place in action. 8)
I'll try to have my vid up for download this weekend.
Oh I am so holding you to that ;). It's the only video from Otakon I haven't downloaded yet.

Ass.
At least I didn't get MurderCityDevil riding on my head while passed out :P
Hey DW you mean a triple crown don't you lol. Anyway I'm hoping to create an amv that will make it to the finals next year, but I'll continue the way I have been making them. And that is for the fun of it. Well I'll see you all around. Dwchang it was great meeting you Vlad, jbone and all of the other creators at the screenings.

HurQlez03 I'm glad that your video won and that Tsukin and I could have been apart of your insperation. Well until next time everyone, "YOU BETTER GET READY!"

Wouldn't that be more like winning AX, Otakon, and AWA in a single year?

Oh, OK, thanks. I guess I missed that. I didn't remember any mention of it in the rules. Gotta pay more attention to the boards...

I understand him answering the question of Senta, but I didn't feel that he had to put the "even more impressive" bit in there. (shrugs) It's been done before like someone said, with Tim in 2000-2001, and Vlad in 2001-2002. Maybe I'm just turning out to be a real nit-picking person. Oh well.
