no, i don't like toji ... well at least not the manga toji ... the guy thinks in ebonics for fucks sake ... and i thought that Shinji stopped strangeling Asuka ... well that would suck ... i guess he got to be alone after all.

As someone stated, he dies in the 2nd OVA. However, there is hope, in the true ending of Kenshin (the manga), he doesn't die and it's quite happy and open-ended.

The 2nd OVA (IMO) is...meh. They tried to crunch all these things in from the manga and then decided to change A TON (like the ending among others). Hope this cheers you up

Well if it makes you feel better, she can probably come back. She's floating in the LCL like everyone else and optmistically, I'd like to think she'd choose to come back instead of live in her fake/happy world. Given, she did DIE, but from the scene where everyone "pops," it's shown that Misato also enters the LCL, which in turn means she can come back, just like Shinji

usually what i do when i don't really get what people talk about are just to simply smile and nod but what i got from what you said is that she can ome back if she wants to so i guees i'm ok with that. and you seem to understand what the hell was going during the end of evangelion. i myself am one of the less fortunate people who just sat there and went "WTF just happened here?" so in conclusion i ask if you may explain it to me

What did you want explained? The entire ending of the movie, the entire movie? That would take quite a while, why dont you just watch it over and over until you get it? It really isn't that hard to follow.

instrumentality was changing the whole human race back to its original primodial form (soup anyone??), this allows everyone to be together and there to be no boundaries, therefor people cannot hurt each other. However, shinji refused this, and chose to go back to his human form, i take it asuka chose this aswell as for misato, we come back to the argument that the asuka at the end of the film was a combination of rei/asuka/misato..this can be neither proved nor disproved since anno's a bastard and wont tell....and, yes, shinji did stop strangling asuka, but its still fucked up, to strangle someone just cos they refused to help?? thats harsh...

I believe atomic gave a good explanation as to what happened with the breakdown of our AT fields (b/c we can't be close without hurting) and how we can choose to return with a physical form and...well....choose to live our lives (his triumph). This is why Misato *might* be able to come back (as well as everyone else).

Honestly...I do agree that Eva CAN be confusing, but at the same time, all the answers ARE there. You just gotta think about it. My word of advice is, don't really watch Eva the story, in all honesty, that's not the important part. What's important is the messgae and the character's struggles and triumphs. Given, the story is pretty cool, but it's just a vehicle for Anno to say what he wants about humans and our relationships with each other.

. I *can* go into all the gory details about what exactly happened...like step-by-step, but I am fairly sure most people don't want to read this since it appears that most people reading know...we'll see...feel free to ask though.

and can go over it, bit by bit from episode 1 all the way to 26, to EOE, no real need to do D&R, since its the series condenced and the first half of EOE.....well, there might be som extra bits, but nothing important comes to mind.....

If I ever feel motivated I could write a brief summary (too bad it'd be like 5 pages) about what happens (story part) and what I think it means. Please say you don't want to know....

. It's just like the 5 -7 people who PMed me for the real ending to Kenshin. I am SO glad I saved that message and just copy and pasted it. It was a good 5 pages that summed up 10 manga volumes
