Well, you could always find a third party website to upload it to. NGSilver offer an adult archive for videos that don't meet org upload standards, and you can then add them as an indirect link. Or you can upload it to a personal website and offer a direct link.
I also don't think it has to do so much with puritanism as that there are kids/underage people that view the website regularly. [Although I'm not a representative of the site, so I may be wrong on this, but I'd assume that this is the reasoning behind it].
