fake or real Otoboku dvd disks. (NEED HELP!)

Ok! So my friend (male friend might I add)! Went out and bought Otoboku for about $12 at a Newbury Comics. So as a joke he opened and these plain out disks were there. I mean it looks pretty bootleg or is Anime Network so down in money that they don't decorate their stuff anymore? But my question at the end of the day is that are these disks legit or did Newbury Comics just sell a bootleg copy of this dvd set. I checked online and nothing came up as image wise to tell me so. So I ask you my wonderful anime lovers is this real or fake.

I'm seing that series on Buy.com for around that price (MSRP $20, but even amazon seems to be selling it at like $14) So the price isn't a tip-off. It's liscensed by Media Blasters, and the cover looks like this: http://www.buy.com/prod/222327220.html

It does all seem to make sense. But the disks is what worries me the most. Because...they seem pretty plain....I mean I understand it being a shiny disk with just a name but the all white cover kinda concerns me...

Given most fansubs nowadays are better than DVD quality, that really isn't much of a tip-off either.
