I'm looking for a specific amv i saw when i was younger

I will try and be as descriptive as possible
It was when I was in grade 6 so this was about 6-7 years old, so it isn't of a new anime
I am almost 100% sure that it had a linkin park song in the background
I am also pretty sure it was fairly popular back then
The only scene I remember is a guy jumping into a huge hole to try and save a girl who was pushed in by the bad guys =}
The guy also sprouted wings as he jumped into the hole, and this is the reason I need to find this amv or anime so bad.
I don't remember much from grade. 6 apart from all the embarassing things as im sure you can tell, but when he grew wings trying to save that girl i literally went through puberty.

I'm not sure of the amv you're talking about, but the description of the anime sounds like Escaflowne, either the movie or the series. This is the movie version, while this is the series version. (Sorry for the bad quality on these, but I think you get the picture.) Hopefully one of these is what you're looking for and it'll be someplace to start.
