What has changed...?

Post by Fraulein » Tue Feb 24, 2015 6:28 am

So, as the title says, what has changed in the lovely community of Anime Music Videos.

Are candy AMVs still the dominant genre on YouTube??

Do people still post all that bullcrap about fair use in their AMV's description on YouTube??

is it safe(r) to post AMVs with unedited audio??

who are the most popular editors these days??

should i even get back into this??

I've been away for like 4 years now because y'know, i got a life and all. But I've decided to try AMVs again, I wasn't the best AMV maker around but i still had some fun times making them and collaborating with other peeps.

I didn't know where to post this, you guys don't have an introduction forum...?? (if you do, move please.)

All replies are appreciated, thank you.

(also these smilies are adorable: :bear: :puppy: :dino: :shark: )

Welcome back, I'm fairly new myself but the best editors (in my opinion) would be becauseimbored1, unlucky artist, lolerj, and Baka oppai. They're the notable creators. Candy amv? Idk what the hell that is. But action videos seem to be dominant in the community that ive seen. ATTACK on Titan, sword art online, and puella madoka are widely used. Other than that, besides modern day editing effects, nothing's really changed

Aye, thanks for the reply, anyways what i define as a "candy" amv would be an amv that has a lot of bright colours and maskings, usually upbeat with cutsey romance/comedy animes, and I'll be sure to check out those editors~

OH! I guess I should post an example of what I can do..??

I made this back when the song came out (so the quality is crap) but scrapped it cuz i was too busy with work/uni.

I cringe at the list of Editors from Sephi. :uhoh:
Honestly you'll have to find your own favorites.
What is the point of asking what is popular on youtube? do you want to make AMVs to be popular on youtube? you think they're the best? what the hell
But no, not Candy Style - nowadays it's all about Motiondesign and Crossovers.

They're all popular around here though, that's what Fraulein was asking.

I wouldn't say the org is an indicator of popularity. This here is much more appropriate when it comes to popularity.
Or go check which vids have the most views on bestamvsofalltime-kind of channels. Not a youtube expert but maybe you can sort by views.

That list just goes by amount of videos uploaded, not necessarily how popular the videos/editors themselves are.

Hello and welcome back to the world of unfriendly bored people :)
Now to answer your questions i'd say
1) Is candy still the most dominant?
Well type the word "MEP" on youtube and see what you will find... YES!!

2) Fair use disclaimer?
Yea I still see some people throwing it down there, although i'm not sure about how useful that is

3) Audio safety?
Well, the issue is still as much of a pain as ever, but some songs are more dangerous than others, while some are not even copyrighted at all.

4) Most popular editors?
*cough* Loosecontroi *cough* nah just kidding. I would say Gorz, Umika, Centurione, and anyone who has made a mark in the Akross contest, since Akross is kind of a big deal. But note that the most popular list can change quite quickly

5) Should you get back?
Sure, the fandom needs more people or we'll go extinct.

Really? man that's stupid. I thought it was the summed up feedback of all vids or total count of vids downloaded. nvm my original comment then - I take it back.
