I just made my first AMV using Windows Movie Maker and when i saved teh movie it saved as a wmv and i was wondering wether this is an ok format and its about 9mb.

First, read this:

Second, wmv is not a very good format. The playback quality is subpar at best, althought the files are small. Although, that file size seems too small to me; see if you can encode it at a better quality </me doesn't know much about WMM>

WMV format is alright, depending what bitrate you export at. With WinXP, you can export at the same bitrates as Premiere. The problem lies in what you use as source footage. It's not the worst, but it's far from the best. Very far.
