G'day from Down Under folks!The SMASH! AMV Competition is back for 2016 and it is a milestone event! The Sydney Manga and Anime Show (SMASH!) has reached its 10th year and of course with the AMV competition! Our past winners of SMASH! can be found in threads here: 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
As always like in the past, we are open to all entrants in Australia and internationally!
It is our 10th year here at SMASH! The anime convention started back in 2007 along with many events. The AMV Competition was one of them. This year we are celebrating our 10th Anniversary and we have decided to make our competition celebrate that significant milestone!
Importantly, it has been a pleasure to see AMVs from the last decade. AMVs made from the heart. We like to emphasise that this year! ^_^

When is the Deadline: Wednesday, August 3, 2016 @ 11:59 p.m. (AEST - UTC+10) (Deadlines in your timezone can be found below this post)
For this year at SMASH!, you can win yourself a trophy by winning in these categories:
- Action
- Comedy/Parody
- Drama/Romance
- Dance/Upbeat/Fun
- Horror/Psychological
And/or win these special awards:
- Best Technical
- People's Choice Award
- Judges' Choice Award
- True Blue Award (For Australian entrants)
However, as a 10th year special, we are introducing one special award:
- SMASH! AMV of the Decade!
If you happen to be a previous winner of any category and/or special award between 2007-2015, then you are eligible to win this award! The best of the best AMVs in the previous years will have their chance again in achieving epic glory! More details will follow later but for those who won before, you will be contacted later about this!
