Jūni Taisen 「AMV」- Tora, Warrior of the Tiger
My fourth amv.
I kept it 720p this time instead of upscaling to 1080p just cause I have had fps problems in the past when dealing with 1080p. The 720p looks fine though here, so might continue in that manner.
I found Tora's story to be extremely emotional. In doing this amv I wanted to pay tribute to her story in my own little way. I want each amv I do to raise the bar from the last one I did. From the Boar amv ==> dog amv ==> chicken amv ==> and now to the tiger amv, I've succeeded in improving with each amv, and hope I don't stop improving in the future. My goal is to make and release things in a timely manner in order to learn effectively and efficiently. I plan on returning to my released amv and re-releasing them after remastering them by applying all the skills I've learned along the way. I think that'll be really fun to see a side-by-side comparison of how much I've learned and how I can re-apply new knowledge to things to consistently improve them.
I hope you enjoy

Mhm i think almost works, i would start working on camera movements with keyframes, and zooms in-out to so it won't feel too stiff

Ya the stuff at the start in particular could use some tinkering. One of the problems was there were alot of scenes where they just skip frames in the actual anime. So like when she's licking herself, her arm literally just jumps from up to down...so that would require masking/fades to deal with that probably...or animating her arm myself lol.Mol wrote:Mhm i think almost works, i would start working on camera movements with keyframes, and zooms in-out to so it won't feel too stiff
And the flashback to the school scene one, in order to fit everything into that segment and not skip 2 of the inbetween scenes I had to do it that way. I actually redid it to fit the other girls waving at her and the idea that she's integrated into the society as a normal schoolgirl.
There were some other scenes here and there where the transitions are off and/or it is a bit stiff. I find most of the scenes I use in the anime are already panned in alot, so I avoid playing with the camera usually (since you can only zoom in really). But your right, I should consider your advice moving forward it would help in a few places I can already see.
I actually redid and took out alot of effects to help it flow better during the editing. I still got a bit to learn when it comes to balancing: the flow, matching the instrumental, matching the lyrics, and then the overall timing of everything.
Getting all 4 of those things to work together without one suffering more than the other was difficult. I mean the dog amv....all the scenes just automatically fit the song and it was soooooo eeeez to do compared to chicken and tiger here. Song songs work better than others, I'm happy with this song though for tiger was a good middle ground.
I'll revisit it in the future I"m sure, and apply whatever else I've learned since then. Thanks for the help
