Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

It is my last year in high school, so I wanted to make something to express my gratitude for all the love, support and encouragement I have received so far.

A bit of a longer read
Spoiler :
It has been almost half a year since I posted a video. During that time I pieced together this project bit by bit. While making this video I discovered a love for story telling and gained some experience and knowledge in video editing. I dabbled in a lot of new fields for the first time, especially color correction. I feel like I learned a lot by playing around with different effect parameters for hours and I'm sure that I have somewhat improved as an editor. So to keep on improving I hope anyone that is reading could share their insights and perhaps tips on how I could strive to make quality videos.

I really liked this. It's such a soft, emotional video without being overbearing. It feels like a lot of heart and thought went into it, and I appreciate your ability to communicate your personal feelings through it. My only real issues were that the video and audio quality were...pretty bad. If you need to improve in any area it's making sure you're working with high quality sources and learning the more technical side of how to export your video correctly and compress it nicely.

Other than that though, great work

This was actually really good. Not sure if I've ever seen an AMV that felt quite like this. This was a very reflective and quiet video, very restrained and never overly sentimental, really just right in striking the perfect tone that I think you were going for.

The transition from Wolf Children to scenes from Hyouka initially felt a little abrupt, like all of a sudden I kind of had to adjust my understanding of this video, that it actually wasn't going to be a linear story but a composite of scenes that reflected a common tone and specific feelings you wanted to express... this didn't really interrupt my enjoyment of the video at all and probably isn't even worth mentioning.

Most AMVs that people make as personal tributes to people in their lives fail to resonate with me as well as I wish they did, but I could feel your motivations for making this and it really felt genuine and from the heart. I hope more people give this one a chance.
