Re: Patriot|Snake Eater
I'd say it's very impressive for a first AMV, but that's sort of damning with faint praise. So I'll just say it's good, with no qualifiers! You picked a slow song and synced to it well, and your scenes were well chosen to give a nice character profile of Sasuke. One criticism I'll give is that the clip of Jiraiya coming out of the frog (while the singer mumbles something about eating frogs) doesn't work for me. The scene is too funny and breaks the mood. That kind of "cheap" lyric sync is tempting to go for as an editor but can be a detriment to the work as a whole. I've been burned by that more than I'd like to admit, and now you've been burned too, haha.
Overall nice work! Looking forward to your next one. As scary as it is, I'd recommend turning comments on in youtube. Most of the time people will say nice things, and it can be a nice boost of motivation to get working on the next one.

I didn't even realize comments ere turned off as I haven't watched it on YouTube. Mostly to not inflate views and because I have copies of it in my GD and HD. Thanks for bringing that to my attention I'll fix it for this and future uploads.vivafruit wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 5:33 pmI'd say it's very impressive for a first AMV, but that's sort of damning with faint praise. Its funny you mentioned the frog thing because its definitely a regret left on the table after getting this out. I was just in hard lyric sync mode so I thought it would "slide by the sensors". If I were the type to go back I think Id probably focus on the sync to the high notes there or something like that.I'm happy I was able o get some feedback from the community and I'm still excited about making more.I was happy with keeping it simple for this one but I think want to stretch out on my next project. Thank you again!

I rather liked this. Had never heard this song before, I thought you matched its tempo and atmosphere pretty well.
There's a very short clip at 0:54 and it KIND OF goes with the music but it's so fast that I'm not really sure.
Overall, this was pretty good!

This actually didn't bother me but I can see why it would distract other viewers. But there was a clip at 0:26 where something is going into (or coming out of?) Naruto's mouth and I didn't really think that gels well at all with the sensuous and serious mood that the editor is building. Also, because Naruto himself doesn't appear anywhere else in the entire AMV, fortunately this happens early enough in the video for there to be plenty of time for the editor to re-build the mood, which I feel like they were able to do.vivafruit wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 5:33 pmOne criticism I'll give is that the clip of Jiraiya coming out of the frog (while the singer mumbles something about eating frogs) doesn't work for me. Looking back on it I feel silly for not realizing that when I made this project. You're totally right hes kinda out of place considering that I focus on the brothers for the majority of the run time. Thanks for giving it a look.seasons wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 11:59 amI rather liked this. Had never heard this song before, I thought you matched its tempo and atmosphere pretty well.
