I love Black Country New Road, I love Evangelion, and I'm excited to share this!
The title comes from a combination of two album titles: Tom Waits' Heartattack & Vine and Ry Cooder's Paradise & Lunch (which is funny cause both words I omit from those titles are also prescient in this video). The title was meaningful to me because it captures the tension I think drives a lot of BCNR's best music and most great art in general, which is the interplay between death & love. Serendipitously I went to see a film yesterday called The Mother and the Whore which is very much about this dichotomy and was incredibly moving to me.
