Need help with contrast/brightness

I plan on doing a Matrix:revolutions video, but all the sources I've found are very dark, so much so that a lot of the action isn't viewable. I've tried a bunch of different settings using the brightness/contrast filter in virtualdub, but none of em seem to do the job, so I was wondering if someone can offer their assitance. Try the HSV adjust filter - you can change more than just the light/dark so your colors won't be so messed up.

Try a levels filter.
