editing audio

Post by DuoEnigma » Wed Mar 10, 2004 10:51 pm

I have a song thats pretty long, I want to remove 1 verse and 1 chorus. I tried using premiere. but it doesn't come out as i want it to. Whats the best way in editing audio?

First off this belongs in Audio help not Video Software help. And I personally use a prgram called GoldWave it has a free version that does the job of fading and cutting very nicely.

I like Audacity. It supports LADSPA, Nyquist and VST plug-ins. Its free too.

if you are just doing a couple of simple kills then you can do it in premiere. Did you zoom way in and do a crossfade at the parts where your audio joins together? If you don't you get level problems, I'm guessing that's what isn't working.

Plus, you won't have to get any new software as opposed to working with what you've got.

my vote's with Audacity, too.

it's free
it works on Windows and Linux (maybe on Mac, too, not sure)
it has a clean and easy to use interface
it's simple, but has all of the essential functions

premier's limitations are 30fps.

even use of generic wav editing software can yeild tighter results.

WTH? Frame rate is a video concept... it has nothing to do with audio.

Yeah, I think it Auto-snaps to the nearest frame regardless of whether you're editing the audio track.
