Otakon 2002 contest?

Does anyone yet know when the contest roster for Otakon will be released? I know they are probably waiting for/counting the mail out evaluations but I have no idea if there is a 'cut off' date of sorts or if they'll wait to get them all back.

I also know they'll be letting everyone know by email before the con....but I'm just checking to see if any of you might know something I don't

I've heard they will most likely be tallying all the results this weekend (or next). Otakon has a good reputation for having a very well run AMV contest, so we will know atleast a week ahead of time I would guess.

Last year, the list was sent out (I believe) three weeks before the con / contest. Probably not going to get it so soon this year, but I'm sure it's on its way. Matt and Duane always have their work cut out for themselves.

Yes, it's very well done and organized. :D

The initial list consists of SOLELY the names of creators who had videos make it into the contest (so as not to ruin potential surprises to be had at the con, in terms of anime and/or music used).

I don't quite remember for sure, but I think we even got an e-mail listing, in order, who had a video in which overflow screening before the con... but that came later than the main contest e-mail.

So, yeah... we'll know soon. Much excitement for those involved.. can't wait for the contest~~.

even if i didnt make the cut as is likely with such a large con, its still alot of fun to even be in the running, kinda gets your blood pumping

I entered my video Just Another Day into the Otakon contest. It didn't make it to the finals at AX, I'm curious if it'll make the finals at Otakon.

I'll live, but it would of been nice. I hope the contest is really good this year.

This is great. My video last year didn't make it in, the year before that it did and blah blah...I am just babbling.

I see a lot of names on there I recognize. I've been in following the contest for years but only attended the last couple.
Do anyone of you know if there is creator seating for the contest?

There generally isn't creator seating for the Otakon AMV contest. They might change it this year, but I've never had any problem getting a good seat. They also have like 2-3 different showings of the contest, which helps spread out the number of seats that they need for the contest too.

Creator seating is in my lap! But you have to hurry because I can only seat one.

Of course there are usually plenty of chairs around anyway.
