Effects in PremierPro?

Post by Saiyan Legend » Wed Jul 14, 2004 2:39 am

Alright i need to know if there is an eaiser way to get the video to shake up and down really fast as to heavy guitar music or somthing rather than keyframing a ton of times in the motion effects in premier. Any help is appreciated!

Dreaded Earthquake effect? I'm pretty sure it's a plugin you can buy off a site. Sorry that I won't go find it for you, but you should be able to search google for it.

I like adding directional blurs and keyframing that a whole bunch of times too, to go with the motion controls.

Seriously, if effects were 'easy' we'd all be making Euphoria-esque videos. Well, if you're into making dream sequences.

Seriously, I was like you a long time ago also...looking for some magic trick to do exactly what I wanted with the footage. It's not that easy most of the time. You're going to have use Mattes, keyframing, motion graphics, AFX, your mom, and other various resources to make the effects you're looking for normally.

I AM pretty sure that you can find an effect for that, but it's most likely not alone and you'll have to buy a package somewhere.

Well Its also not just people going out and buying a magical little plugin to solve all of your problems... eventually if you want to do somethin you're gonna have to get you're hands dirty and start keyframing and doing thing by hand. Heaven forbid people have to think to make an AMV. I have about 3 answers to your question. Not one of them are a simple effect.

He's right man...and you probably don't want to hear what he has to say. Carlos, good thing you didn't list them cause it would've most likely been a waste of your time.

If you don't want to think, just go ahead and look around for one.

Finding the right plug-in might take even more time than keyframing it.

Here's how I do it with Sony Vegas. If you can find the same effect in Premiere (I'd tell you how, but I don't have Premiere loaded anywhere), it'll save you a lot of time.

In Vegas, drop the Film Effects effect on the clip. Turn off all parameters and un-check the "Enable particles" box. Select the Jitter parameter and adjust the slide to get the amount of shaking that you want. Add some Flicker if you want to enhance the effect.

It's that simple. :)

There's truth in that.
