'Green Screen'
Ahoy,
Just to clarify: you know all those people who you complain about not knowing the first thing about computers? Well that's pretty much me . . . not by choice, but hey . . . that's life.
On to my question. I recently downloaded two XviD files, and, of course, being only sensible, I downloaded an XviD codec as well. Did the whole instliation bit . . . and now we're laughing. Just . . . we're not . . .
See, my problem, is that the XviD files have the whole Green Screen thing going, where everything is almost discernable through a green blurb. Then, when something slides across the screen, there's extreme pixilation in it's wake, the video's pretty screwed, and I add another forehead dent into my computer desk.
I don't think this problem is soley with XviD files though. I downloaded all of Gunslinger Girl a while back, and it was good for me then (my computer was only 2 weeks old then, and it played fine for me in Windows Media Player) I downladed DivX player after that, and it was giving me the same problem.
I guess the question I'm asking is: 1. does anyone know what the hell I'm talking about, and 2. how do I fix it, is there a bugfix around, or do I get a new computer? (My wallet beggs you not to tell me to get another computer!)
Thanks in advance

(By the way, as far as I know, Gunslinger Girl had not been domestically released, nor liscenced at the time I downloaded it, and I'm sure we'll all agree that Hong Kong pirate discs aren't the way to go here.)
