i always had a habit since about 2 weeks after i joined this site of expressing my hate of seeing linkin park used in videos....because i honest;y was sick of hearing songs like faint and somewhere i belong over and aver in a video...but today i had an idea for a video (which i will not mention) and i needed a song....and linkin parks "breaking the habit" kept getting poped in my head...i knew LP was overused and i tried to think of another band to use in my vid...but that song kept playing in my head perfectly in sync....

and i realized something that moment. why people continually make videos with linkin pk even tho over half of them know that the band is overused. linkin park always has a song that fits perectly with any anime.....they have a type for everything...i re-analyzed this is my head and i now apologize to all ppl who i insulted for using linkin park in a vid...they do it because it fits! nothing more to it...

ok lyrics aside Of course its gonna fit with every anime.... The music its self its overly basic. (listeing to BTH right now) its just an off beat snare it breaks in with a 16th note hihat run. A 4 note loop that will probably get ignored. and a chord change in the "strings" part at the beginning of each measure. u can time anything to that... As for his whining.... meh.

(and thats just about the breakdown for almost any linkin park song)

Heh, here's someone with their stuff straight.

Anyway, it's really not that hard to put things into context with some songs, but it's not a rule or anything. We've just had this LP discussion here shortly before. Heck, use what you want... but no accolades for originality and ultra-elite-taste shall be captured by a Linkin Park AMV on this community anytime soon.

Anyway, my point is - fitting, true, but hardly startling AMV material today.

And, yea, 4/4 is sacred as we all know.

I will do a video to "Mars, the Bringer of War" someday when I feel truly up to the challenge and/or insane. 5/4 is da bomb, and everyone knows it.

(goes off to listen to some time signature-deprived Charles Ives and maybe some Autechre)

The reason why LP fits well with most Anime: Most anime have a main character who suffered a great deal in his/her life and at least half of these characters were traumatized by a specific person or persons. ince that`s the backbone scenario for 500% of all LP`s lyrics, there you have it.

I believe that Linkin Park has that compatibility thing with anime. They're like a J-Rock band but sings in English. You can fit practically any LP song with any anime provided that it makes some kind of sense to it.

I mean ... might as well start an 13- or 26-episode anime series based on the LP band doing their typical thing. I'm sure you'll get a lot of LP AMVs on that one.

It's a classic, that album. Although I'm more of a fan of their 73-74 and 99-03 incarnations, myself - much heavier stuff, incidentally.
