Editing Computer Auction at AWA8!

Post by MCWagner » Thu Sep 19, 2002 2:31 am

I'll be cross posting this into the relevant lists, so don't be surprised if you hit it more than once...

No this isn't spam. Yes, it's a genuine offer.

Ever had one of those days with your computer? Those days that just make
you want to toss the whole thing out and rebuild from scratch?

Compatibility problems?

Slow processor?

Input-output problems?

Something's busted but you don't know where?

Default codecs used by no one in the world but you?

Ever taken a good long look at those snazzy high-tech
matting/strobing/crossover AMVs you love best and thought to yourself "if
I could just get a hold of that system for myself..."?

Now you can.

Joe Croasdaile of "Maboroshi Studio", winner of the AWA 2001 Masters
jacket and countless other awards, has generously donated
his editing system to the AWA Video Art Track. This system, where
several of Joe's award winning videos, including last year's Masters
video, were created, is to be auctioned off at the VAT track on Saturday
night at the Iron Chef Competition. Proceeds will go towards VAT
equipment upgrades and supplies to keep the Video Art Track running at the
top of it's game.

So what, exactly, are you bidding on?

"Maboroshi Studio's G4"
350mhz
OS 9.2.2
192 SDRAM PC100
10 gig system drive
40 gig editing drive
Sony Media Converter

official copies of these programs
Final Cut Pro 1.2.5
Adobe Photoshop 5.5
Adobe Illustrator 8.0
Adobe GoLive 4.0

Just cleaned out drives and a zero level format.

So, if you're tired of having to get a degree in computer science to just
get your editing system working properly, why not put in a bid on one
entire integrated, tried and true, award winning computer system? This is
a one time offer, this year only at AWA 8 during the end of the Iron Chef
competition.

If you are at all interested in this auction, please e-mail me privately
at gte106k@prism.gatech.edu so we can gauge interest.

oooo a mac
And I thought all the infomercials were on cable

I actually have a legitimate question in between the jokes...since Photoshop and the other licensed programs were most likely registered by Joe, does that mean selling them pre-loaded is ok or not ok?

It wouldn't be, except the official program CDs are in the package deal, meaning any other copies are then the illegal ones.

Sorry about the infomercial tone, I'm kinda new at this whole "pitch" thing.
