Come close as in HOW? Similar series? If thats what you mean, i would say Ah! My Goddess was kind of like Onegai, Teacher. Just a romance story with some difficulty without getting TOO serieous. Love Hina is a little like that, though it leans more toward the typical "harem" style anime.

In the genre of guy falls in love with a non-human girl, two shows that spring to my mind are Video Girl Ai and Chobits. You might find them enjoyable if you liked Please Teacher. Same with Ai Yori Aoshi (though the female lead is a fairly standard human).
