copyright in other nations
i was wondering about the legal status of obtaining media content, which may be copyrighted in us or japan, using peer to peer networks if you happen to be located in some other nation where the media may or may not be copyrighted.

There are international copyright laws which most nations are signed on to.
Whether they choose to enforce them is another question. But anything infringing on anyone's copyright is generally illegal everywhere.
