i am working on a teknoman AMV using the song 'gifts and curses' by yellowcard. for those that dont know yellowcard decided to drop a whole minute of musical in the sonf. the theme of the video is Blade keeps fighting for the ppl\person he loves (which would be Star).
musical and AMV are a hard mix. anyway i was wondering if this has been done and by who, or is it just better to edit out most of the music ?
i got some ideas for a fill-in such as telling the whole story of the anime in that minute or dramatic fight scenes........i am open to many ideas here.
musical for a minute

If by "musical" you mean instrumental, then I'd have to greatly disagree. Instrumental AMVs are coming more into the spotlight these days. They're not any harder to make than regular AMVs, and edited wisely, instrumental interlude can greatly enhance the impact of a video.
A general theory is that instrumetal section provide space for ease of storytelling. The interlude in Gifts and Curses is really nice in that it builds from a quiet piano solo to a moving piano/strings trio to a full-fledged piece with drums and guitars. You might take advantage of this gradual development in the music to illustrate the way that the main characters gradually overcomes a conflict. Or maybe you'll want to delve into the relationship between the characters and how that gives the main guy a reason to fight.
Good luck! (I really like that song. )
