Hello everyone.

The purpose of this post is to bring to your attention a wonderful example of audio-video synchronization.

I am one of those community lurkers and leechers that never actually makes any AMVs, but I think I can still reasonably claim that this specific instance of ambient image-sound engineering is almost unmentioned in a community that could benefit immensly from it.

Koyaanisqatsi is not a film in the traditional sense, but is rather a sequence of excellent cinematography by Ron Fricke in tandem with a fantastic Philip Glass score, directed by Godfrey Reggio.

The theme is fairly cliche by now, and many techniques and ideas used in the film have been commoditized. HOWEVER, I think AMV creators (and viewers) can benefit and learn immensly from the excellent aesthetic that pervades this Real Life Music Video.

I simply wanted to bring this masterpiece to your attention: I will not say anymore about the movie.

Please do not disregard this movie in spite of its (imho) inferior sequels.

If you have not seen it and enjoy AMVs, give it a shot!

PS: If you enjoyed the cinematography in this film, I recommend Baraka. The music in Baraka is subpar, but it is interesting anyways.
