Having problem uploading my video.

Post by GloryQuestor » Sat Apr 02, 2005 2:35 pm

I went to the Kero FTP and went to upload my video, but the server keeps kicking me off.

I have entered the video data and have the permission name and password, and have entered them correctly, but twice now it's not let me move the file into the FTP.

Here's the video entry link:

Should I keep trying?

When you get kicked off, what error message do you get? Have you attempted to resume the upload?

I did try and third time and it did finally upload completely. :)

However, I should probably tell you what happened:

The first time, it didn't connect properly. It kept trying to read the FTP site but didn't connect at all. So, I terminated the connection and waited for about 2 minutes.

The second time, it did connect. So, I dropped my video into the FTP window to upload it. It started to upload, then suddenly, I got the message that the "FTP server kicked me" and access was denied.

So, I waited again (posting the message above in the meantime), and then connected a third time. This time, the video did upload properly, but the connection speed when uploading this time was slower than usual. (I also noticed that the speed when downloading the TEST video during the confirmation sequence was also half what it usually was -- normally, videos download at around 120kbs-140kbs on my connection, but tonight, the speed was around 63kbs.)

Thank you for looking into it, though, and I hope the information above is useful. :)

I'm not sure why you'd be getting a message about RETR not being understood. Maybe you need to turn on passive mode in your FTP client?
