Prince of tennis: Really Junior High Schoolers?

Is it just me, or does it seem like some of the people in PoTs are a bit, oh how would you put it, waaay too old to be in junior high =P i mean, it does seem like some of them are alot older , at least by the way they look, e.g. Tezuka, Kabaji, or bobby max from the later on episodes, anyone else thinkin the same?

Well, that's not too uncommon. After all, the main characters of Yu Yu Hakusho seem like they're older than middle school, and the Yugioh cast don't look like high school sophmores, to name a couple examples.
