Re: help!
Careful, 'cause there are some people on this forum that believe the guides are 100% understandable and fool-proof.gilmorefan16 wrote:but it's all greek to me.
Anywho, there really isn't a step-by-step guide to making anime-music-videos . However, I think the best way for you to get started out is to take some random footage you have, throw it into Windows Movie Maker, cut it up, put some song to it and most important of all:
Have Fun.
It doesn't have to be the best work ever. Thats why we have the opinion system. If you want to be better, ask people what they think could improve your editing and take the advice constructively.
Want to try and be the best you can as soon as possible? Take note of the top 10% AMVs (under that members section on the right). Take note of all the things that you think are great and try and mimic them a bit. Learn from the best, thats my motto ^_^.
Anywho, I'm tired and I'm sure you've got a billion questions. If its a software question, we have a "Video Software" forum, be sure to post there about any questions you may have.
Good luck and have fun!

I know exactly what you mean. the Guides here make absolutely no sence what-so-ever in my brian. No matter how many times i re-read I still don't understand. so, what I would try doing is opening up some type of movie making program (Probably the default one on most computers. windows movie maker I think) Anyway, you probably have that. So open that up and play around with it for about 1 million years. thats what got me to understand the basics. Of course you would need footage n sound n stuff. So, what I'm going to tell you right now most people loathe. But it will help you to understand alot, but just don't make a real amv with this.
1. You probably have some downloaded music, and downloaded anime footage of some kind, if you don't, get some now.
2. Open windows movie maker, and on the side there should be some stuff saying, "upload audio" or "upload movie". Click on "upload audio" and find the audio, and upload movie and upload the footage.
3. Put the new lil audio and footage icons on the bottom line thingy there. Play around with that untill you understand the basics of making a amv. But never ever ever make a real amv with downloaded footage, audio, and all. People will murder you.
....Heck, people will probably murder me for telling you this. Anyway, it worked for me, so maybe that will help you. When you have a good idea, song, and anime in mind that will all make a great amv, use real DVD footage and non-downloaded audio. Also, you might not want to use Windows Movie Maker.
Good Luck!

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

If you don't have the patience to read the guides, then don't make videos. /elitistkhokokatt wrote:I know exactly what you mean. the Guides here make absolutely no sence what-so-ever in my brian. Besides, downloaded footage and music will only increase the tendency of almost any video editor to crash.

This is a mistake that all (or most ) of us make, and it's best just to go ahead and skip this one.Scintilla wrote:<a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... >WRONG.</a>khokokatt wrote:1. Alot of people have a hard time understanding the quides. I don't think it has much to do with patience. Maybe how smart you are... but...

Thats very true, but she is only useing downloaded footage to learn how to make a music video. She isn't making a real one. It might work for her.Scintilla wrote:<a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... >WRONG.</a>khokokatt wrote:1. If all else fails, try to ask who wants you into their messenger list and ask them about the things you don't understand. I helped some people get started that way. It may not be the safest way, since some people might take offence to newbies suddenly adding them to their lists, but if you ask around and check, i'm sure you'll find some helpful people out there.
