- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Comment time! ^_^
Stuff I Liked
- the concept. I find it interesting when people give the video a story of its own, or when they "section off" certain themes of the anime. I haven't seen RahXephon (it's somewhere on my list... ~_~ ), but you seemed to have pulled off what you were going for. The first section was especially easy to understand, and I also found it to be one of my favorite parts of your video.
- timing. Nicely done, particularly for such a long song. Most people 'crap out,' so to speak, about halfway through, but your video kept the pace going and there were only a few points when I felt a lull in the motion.
- video/audio quality and resolution. Very big and very pretty and very nice sounding. That's all there is to it.
Stuff I Was Iffy About
- scene selection. For the most part, it was pretty good, but there were times when I thought you were flashing images just for the sake of keeping the video flowing. For example, about three fourths of the way through, you were doing shots of faces. Several of those faces were only seen in that part of the video and nowhere else. It makes the viewer - like me - think that they were just filler material. Those scenes didn't really have a purpose, and in a story-driven video like this, "pointless" shots hurt your video overall. I know that a long song like this can be tough to work with when you want appropriate footage, but it's still something to watch out for.
- intro going into the video. I like that you artistically worked in the intro bumper to your video, but at the same time, you've also completely negated any impact that your opening might have had. This is particularly true when you use the same anime footage as the opening bumper. It doesn't give your video a clear beginning, which is the very thing that snags your viewer in and makes them interested in what you have to show. Also, and this is more of a personal thing, but a little bumper on the end of the video (maybe a few seconds of black space) is nice, too, because it gives your video a sense of finalization. This works doubly well because it gives your viewer a few moments to absorb what he or she just watched. They can let it sink in, right? ^_^
- the girl in the yellow dress lip synching/singing. That was...weird. Not bad, necessarily, but...weird. It broke the mood of that part, but introduced a different one that also worked, in my eyes.
Stuff I Didn't Like
- song length. As I've said before, this is what many people will complain about the most when watching a video. If the song exceeds five minutes, you usually get bored viewers. Even if the editing is gorgeous, it can still get repetitive. For me, it depends wholly on the video. In this instance, I would have liked to have hacked off a minute or two. To be specific...6:00 to 6:40 just got repetitive. After the first phrase of it, I got bored with couple seconds of black space between each clip. Also, the last eighteen seconds didn't really fit the video's mood. I understand what you were depicting with that, but it wasn't working so hot.
All in all, this is a great video. Sadly, most people's AMV attention span won't outlast it, but it'll hopefully bring some interest anyway. I can see why this took you so long. It's a complex idea, and you portrayed it fairly well. Even without knowing the anime, I think I've gotten a lot out of this. So, great job! ^_^

Thanks so much for the comments.
A few responses to some your comments:
-That part around 6:00-6:40 is the bane of my existance... it was supposed to show that everyone goes through struggles, that its not just the protagonist... but my mind decided to crap out on me and I ended with those little fade in/outs of the characters' in their "life-is-not-so-peachy" moods . That part was definately too long...
-"The girl in the yellow dress lip synching/singing", yeah that was a little weird but at the time of editing it seemed like the only decent clip that could fit there.
-The song is SOOO long... it was originally 10 mins 30 secs. I wish that it could've ended at 5:28 in the video, and I was thinking of doing that, but if I did, it was seem incomplete, at least to me.
I know that most people will immediately stray away from the video because it is so long. Thanks for giving it a chance and for the comments, I really appreciate it.
