And yes Nightwing is the original robin, but older.

The thing is, there are multiple robins

There were three different Robins. The first one, Richard Greyson, eventually became Nightwing. (Greyson and Wayne weren't getting along anymore. Greyson flipped out and left. When he came back he met RobinIII (Tim Drake).).
