Conspiracy Theorys..... OOHHH SPOOKY......

Post by KingSchwill » Thu Oct 27, 2005 12:59 am

Alright I was Just reviewing Tokyo Godfathers and something struck me as odd. Gin's Daughter Kiyoko is a nurse. Tokyo Godfathers was directed by Satoshi Kon who also did Paranoia Agent, which freatures a nurse who gets conned by the journalist, A nurse who looks exactly the same as Kiyoko. Just wondering if all the years of abuse have finally got to my brain got me thinking there must be other "coincidences" out there so it is up to you minions to bring forth further proof that all anime characters are really played by a single two dimensional ufo god named Mitch Connor currently living in Jersy

Um... yeah... first of all, you need some help.

Secondly, it's not uncommon for characters to recur throughout many animes; look at Hayao Miyazaki movies for chrissake! Many character designers use similar designs from show to show (Hiedaki Anno, for instance; Shinji and Naota look disturbingly similar, as do Asuka and Nadia, when you see them in black-and-white).

Okay. well, first off, you're sig is more than 4 lines... big no-no. Secondly, if you want recurring themes, I'd say look at a lot of Rumiko Takahashi stuff. She always has two main characters in her serial stories, obviously both male and female. The other thing is that the male never seems to be able to accurately say what he feels about the girl. Her character designs are very similar as well (Shampoo looks like Lum, Godai seems like an older Ataru, Ren is obviously Ryouga, and Inu-Yasha bears a striking resemblence to both Ranma and Ryouga).

Is that all better schwilly make go bye bye

Any since it's not fun anymore no jackassery

Any who I tend to stay away from the mellodramas and focus on the phycological thrillers, action and comedies so please forgive me for not knowing any names but Ranma and inuyasha( no capital letters for inuyasha bad excessively long anime bad) But the injury to eye motif is present in a lot of stuff from Shinichiro Watanabe(sic?). Do you know of any others that have this element?

So it's fairly common huh?
It's interesting the more anime I watch themore paralels I see between anime and earliy american pulp mags. Reaccuring elements of violence hyper sexualization and convoluted stories so bogged down by back continuity that there are flashbacks on such a regular basis you could trim two episodes of a twelve episode series and not lose anything.

hell, Osamu Tezuka's characters look just like the characters from Popeye. and if you look at the opening of Paranoia Agent where Ikara's wife is laughing, shes in the burned down house on Tokyo Godfathers where Gin broke the bed, and the little old lady is in the grand hall where that guy was shot. now if you wanna talk about characters looking alike, the fat stubby foreman on Spirited Away looks too much like that nasty reporter on Paranoia Agent, think about it
